Based in Sydney, Australia, Trudy was the lighting director at the Sydney Entertainment Centre for 7 years where she designed opera, ballet, circus, ice-skating, rock concerts, and sporting events.
​

She has designed for Opera New Zealand, Victorian Opera, and West Australian Opera. For the Gordon Frost Organization she has designed In The Heights, Saturday Night Fever, Legends, Annie, and Fame. She lit the Australian tours of the arena versions of Grease and Hairspray.

She has won several design awards, including three Green Room awards for Hairspray, West Side Story, and Eureka: The Musical.
