Dawn Chiang has designed for Broadway, Off Broadway and numerous regional theaters nationwide.
She was resident lighting designer for New York City Opera.

She also worked on the concert tours of Paul Anka, Diana Ross, The Carpenters, and Loggins and Messina.
Dawn has earned two Drama-Logue Critics' Awards, two Lighting Designer of the Year Awards (Syracuse Area Live Theatre), and nominations for the San Francisco Drama Critics’ Award, Los Angeles Drama Critics’ Award and the Maharam Design Award from American Theatre Wing.

She was vice president and board member for Theatre Communications Group, currently a board member for Behind The Scenes charity, and is a mentor for the Theater Development Fund’s “Wendy Wasserstein Project” outreach program for New York City high school students.
